Best Blogs in November: Email Marketing, Rainmaking and More

This is my 36th post in a series of monthly features that I have dubbed “Best of My Blog Roll.” The concept is simple – at the end of a month I peruse my own blog roll (see that column on the right) for material created by other bloggers that I think is most worthy of sharing with others, and then I report on it here.

Reviewing the month of November 2015, I have chosen to highlight four blog posts:

  1. A blog post on client development by Cordell Parvin entitled, “What Does It Take to Make Rain?” This post cites a survey of top rainmakers at one firm, which neatly summarized common characteristics and habits of good client developers.
  2. A blog post by Sue-Ella Prodonovich on “How to Win More Work” based on her years of successful coaching and consulting in professional services marketing. Her advice is short, sweet and simple to follow.
  3. A blog post by Stephen Fairley on email marketing offering “Eleven Tips to Stand Out in the Inbox.” This post offers 11 specific and practical tips to improve the yield on email marketing (and for those who are getting no yield, this reading is valuable indeed).
  4. A blog post by Ross Fishman on those “Stupid Superlative Lawyer Lists” which offers not only the author’s insights, but the feedback from sophisticated clients, which is consistent with the feedback I have received from own surveys over the years.
