What Business Wants from Law Firms

A recent article at Forbes.com by management consultant Richard Upton notes some empirical proof that business clients want something more from their current law firms. 

Upton cites a client survey by the highly-regarded BTI Consulting group, which shows that the overwhelming majority of clients are less than satisfied with their current firms, and Upton says it is because business clients want law firms to be more accepting of the necessity to live within budgets and be accountable for results.

The Forbes article released by PR Newswire is a short read, but it strikes a note that is unfortunately in tune with clients who are dissatisfied.

There are some firms, however, whom clients grade much better than others, as cited by previous BTI surveys, and those well-regarded firms are shaping more competitive cultures and more service-oriented values that will provide a solid foundation for business growth.
