According to Corporate Counsel magazine, a recent survey of 107 General Counsel revealed that 69 percent see the legal workload increasing this year, and just 30 percent see it remaining about the same.
Furthermore, 61 percent ranked “more regulations and growing complexity” as one of their top headaches for 2012, making complex regulations the biggest issue for General Counsel in 2012 (pressure to “do more with less” came in second in the 2012 voting).
Thus, it looks like outside counsel who want to connect with GCs should find ways of “reducing complexity” by demystifying regulations and explaining their impact on various facets of the client’s operations.
